One down, four to go

I got my mom's purse done Monday! I made it a little shorter than others and was able to make the handles a little longer. I think she'll like it.

Jan's purse is well underway. I can't post pictures of it until she receives it.

Next will be Amber's. Then Kristine's mom's, then hers - the ones I didn't know about!

That should take me well into May. It's always a busy month with the end of school, programs, field trips. The first part of June will be busy with getting the kids ready for camp and our vacation!

I will be ready to go again after that and looking forward to doing more for people then. Possibly even some curtains!

I think I'm gonna be busy

Well, my friend finally got material and told me she put it in the mail on Tuesday. I got home after school and spending the day with my son and a bunch of jr. high kids at their quiz meet. Went to the mail box and got the package. I thought it seemed a little big to just be material for her mother-in-law. Once I opened it up, I saw that she had also sent some for her mom and herself!!

So-- right now I have 5 purses waiting to be created. (two are in the process).

Guess I will be busy for a while! :)

Progress

I was able to get the padding cut out yesterday! And today I sewed it onto the pieces for my mom's purse. Not sure I really like it. Seems to be a little harder to work with, but I won't really decide until the finished project.

Here is a peek of the material.
Amber's material is on the left and Mom's is on the right.

I'm not sure how much more I will be able to get done this week. Getting a few things ready for a baby shower this weekend and going with D's Bible Quiz Team to Indy one day this week! (it's their last year participating. Also, it will be the longest I have left T with anyone! Hope my mom and he both have a good day!)

I have also been told that the material is in the mail for my friend's mother-in-law's purse for Mother's Day! Hope I can get it done in time! Just over 2 weeks away!!

The little guy is awake now, so I guess there will be no more sewing today....

Mondays....

Well, Mondays are hard days for me (and everyone I suppose). I have to start the laundry cycle for the week, straighten up after the kids have been home (I tend to neglect that on the weekends), I do my "desk work", etc.

Today I am determined to at least get the padding cut out for my next two purses. I bought something a little different this time. Hopefully it works just as well, if not better. My mom told me I could use her purse to try it on, so-- that will be the one I start on.

Oh- I did get her material and Amber's material cut out Friday. So it won't be long until I can get going on the machine. Would like to do that today, but think I will be better off if I just make getting the padding cut as my goal today! If i get to do more, that will just be a bonus!

I better get off of the computer, so I can get my list accomplished today!

What's next?

Well, it has been a few weeks since i have had a purse to work on. A couple people said they would buy their own fabric and mail it to me. I'm still waiting to receive it. One of them is for her mother-in-law for Mother's Day! Sure hope she sends it soon. It's just over 3 weeks away and have to allow time to mail it to her.

Yesterday my mom finally picked out fabric (for mother's day too!). One of my best friends & I went to the store and she chose her material today. But, there is no deadline for that one.

The sewing machine has had a break for the past few weeks. Hope it is ready to get back to work! (and hope the 'sew-er' is ready too! ;)

Mindy's purse

I met Mindy at the store and she picked out this springy fabric! too cute!!

On this one, I figured out how to just have 6 big pockets inside instead of 2 big ones and 8 smaller ones.

Bears, Bears, and More Bears

I have made teddy bears for lots of new babies lately. These two are for Naomi and Mary.

The one below is for Grady!

This one has a special story behind it. Two sisters I know, lost their mother as they were growing up. This bear was made from a dress that belonged to their mom. It was a surprise for Melissa's birthday from Luanna. I was so honored to do this for those sweet ladies! There was enough material left over to make a second one for Luanna.

Lynae's purse

This is the second purse I made. Lynae bought the fabric she like and brought it to me.

On this one, I figured out how to cover the ends of the zipper, so it covers the seams inside. I wasn't please with that part the first one that I made. I had just followed the directions. Still wanted to figure out something different for the inside pockets.
